Sometimes You Get Lucky

Craig awoke early on Friday for reasons that are still unknown. About an hour later he was looking tired and dragged a cushion off the sofa to act as temporary bed. Naturally, his favourite purple spade was with held tightly in his hand.

But he couldn't lie there for long because Craig's parents had to go to the local government administrative office to get their tax details. (It's part of the process of submitting a tax return.) The office was very crowded and it took a while for Craig's Mum and Dad to get what they needed. You can't see the spade in this picture but it is there in Craig's hand.

After an early lunch, Craig fell asleep while being carried home. Craig's Dad thought that this might be the last photo taken of the favourite purple spade. After Craig arrived home it was gone.

After waking from his nap Craig didn't immediately notice the absence of his favourite toy. So, his parents quickly took him out and bought a new one. The closest they could find was a red one but fortunately Craig seemed OK with it.

Still, Craig's Dad was very relieved (and surprised) when the spade fell out on his arm the next day when he was pulling something out of the basket under Craig's pram. Craig had tucked it down in between the sun-shade and the back of the pram.
