A Place for Everything, and Everything In Its Place

What Craig lacks in physical coordination he tries to make up for in good old-fashioned determination. If he believes that the cupboard containing the spare bag of nappies should be open and that the bag of nappies should be on the floor, then that is what will happen.

And if Craig's Mum puts the bag back inside and closes the door again, he will fix it.

And, he doesn't tire quickly. No matter how many times the bag is put back inside the cupboard, Craig will come and get it out again.

You have to admire his determination, don't you?

Telephones are Difficult to Handle

Being a 1-year-old can be very difficult. There's so much that Craig would like to do but he doesn't quite have the coordination to do things the way he would like. Things like hanging up the phone can be very challenging.

No matter how hard he tried, the handset just would not go back on the receiver.

Craig Wears a Hat!

Craig went out for a walk with his Mum on a cold windy day recently and she managed to convince him to wear nice warm cap that keeps his ears warm! No big deal I hear you say. That's because you don't know how much effort his Mum had to go to get the cap on to his head and to keep it there.

Craig's Mum said he enjoyed the walk and the hat looks like it will come in handy as the latest spell of cold weather is expected to last about a week.

Craig and Crackers

Although Craig does like his food and eats just about everything his parents give him, if he needs just a few mouthfuls of something to keep him going, his parents will give him some crackers that are made for little people.

But, a few days ago. When he was on the second floor with his grandparents Craig became a bit greedy.

He started eating crackers for big people two at a time!!

And, as you can tell from the pictures, he had a good time doing it.

Magazines! Craig Loves em!

Craig's newest game is taking all of the magazines his silly Mum and Dad have saved in a magazine rack and throwing them on the floor. Of course, Craig's parents could try to keep him away from the magazines but when they put the rack in its usual place in a corner where Craig can't reach it, he complains loudly for minutes on end.

So, why not just let him go? It's only a bunch of old magazines after all.

And, magazine publishers have a habit of just putting more stuff out all the time.

That should mean endless fun for a baby boy.

After tearing all those magazines up, Craig needed to strengthen himself up for Round 2. Banana is good for a growing boy.

Plus, he likes to play with remote controls. The one in his hand is a spare one that his parents bought as a toy, (just in case you were wondering).

It's Not Dad's Computer!

Craig isn't allowed to play with his Dad's computer at all. And, the few times that he has played with his Mum's laptop, he managed to pull a couple of the keys off the keyboard. So, that was stopped too.

But, he still likes the idea of playing with computers. Perhaps he just wants to be like his parents. So, it was no surprise that when he was sitting on Aunty Suprana's lap that he had some fun with her computer.

Craig hasn't quite got the hang of how to use the mouse.

And, he tends to bang his hands on the keyboard like it is a drum. But he has plenty of time to learn how to use a computer properly when he grows a little bigger.

Aunty Suprana's Wedding

Thursday morning was Craig's first-ever opportunity to attend a wedding!! Craig's Aunty Suprana and her "friend" Dean were the happy couple.

Craig watched the preparations from the lap of his Great Aunt from the Second Floor, who now lives on the fifth floor so she will need a change of name!

Craig's Mum took part in the ceremony. She held the rings.

Craig watched while Great Aunt from the Fifth Floor kept him under control.

While the happy couple were exchanging rings, Craig's cousin Soit-Jade got up very close and some adults even gathered around to take pictures! Weddings in Taiwan are not the very formal events that you find in Western countries.

Craig got up close to the action as well.

This picture just missed catching the throwing of flower petals on top of the happy couple.

It's a bit of a shame that in the one photo taken with Craig's Dad's camera-phone of the whole family at the wedding, that Craig turned his back to the camera. He was busy playing with the business card of the Notary Public that performed the marriage.

Aunty Suprana's friends also gathered for a quick photo.

The wedding banquet was an informal affair. A buffet lunch at the Hyatt Hotel. Craig's Uncle Dean seemed to appreciate the opportunity to eat some Western-style food for a change.

But, during the meal, Craig was often a bit restless. He caused quite a bit of trouble for his Mum and she had to take him for a walk at least three times. He really liked walking around in the lobby perhaps because it is a very large open space.

But, each time he returned to his seat after going for a walk, Craig would become restless again quite quickly making it difficult for his Mum to have a leisurely lunch.

Craig's Dad thinks that the photo above shows how much Craig and his Mum look alike when they look unhappy.

Don't you agree?

Neihu Sports Park

Craig made a late-afternoon trip to a big park that is not far away home but far enough that he and his parents travelled by car courtesy of Uncle Guapo. The park has some big wide open spaces which meant Craig wanted to stay close to his Mum.

There was a nice little play area for smaller children and Craig had some fun there. He liked the slide even if there was a lot of climbing that needed to be done to get to the slide.

So, then he decided that going for a walk might be more fun.

And, having made that decision, led the way.

Craig's Mum convinced Craig to sit down for a rest.

And, Craig's cousin Soit-Jade came over to join them.

Craig's Dad liked this picture so much he made a close-up of Craig and his Mum.

Craig was soon walking towards who knows where as fast as his little legs could carry him.

And, there was time for one last picture before sunset and it was time to go home.

Drunken Master Sliding

Monday morning was sunny and warm so Craig's parents decided it would be good for Craig to go back to the park. He started on the blue slide again.

But his Mum thought that the way he was sliding down was a bit strange.

Then, Craig started to play on the tube slide again. This time he became very confident and decided he didn't want any help.

He was walking quickly from the bottom of the slide back to the stairs, up the stairs to the top of the slide and then he would slide face first down and crawl out the bottom.

He did this five or six times but he was moving so quickly that his Dad's camera was having trouble keeping up.

In the end, Craig's Dad decided that video was the answer! Craig still walks a little bit like Jackie Chan doing his Drunken Master kung-fu fighting but he's a proper toddler now. Enjoy!

No Sleep at Bedtime

It's a real shame that the first picture in this post did not come out very clearly. Craig has never looked cuter than this. At least an hour after being put to bed, Craig toddled his way out of bed and all the way to the living room still wearing his sleeping sack! He was absolutely silent, so his arrival in the living room was a delightful surprise.

At the time, Craig's Mum and Dad had company. Craig's Aunty Suprana and (soon-to-be) Uncle Dean had come to watch football. They were happy to see Craig too. Uncle Dean showed Craig a fun game to play, screwing the cap onto a drink bottle.

Craig was very happy playing that game and not at all interested in the football. He was so happy that he didn't go to sleep until hours after his usual bedtime.

Sliding in the Park

At lunchtime on Saturday, Craig's Mum went downstairs to the second floor to eat while Craig stayed with his Dad at home. Craig had woken up extra early that day and decided to take an early nap. So, when Craig's Mum came back upstairs, this is what she saw.

It's a shame the picture didn't come out a bit clearer because he looked very cute. Anyway, a little later Craig and his parents went to the park. Craig likes the slippery slide at this park.

He doesn't mind if other children play there too.

He spent some time walking around as well.

Craig's Dad thought that the tube slide looked a bit safer.

And Craig had a good time on that slide too.
