Days in Yeppoon All Look the Same 3

On Thursday morning, once again, after breakfast Craig helped Craig's Dad with some shopping. This time the shopping took a little bit longer than previous trips and by the time they had returned to Grandma's House Craig was hungry. Craig's Dad was still putting the shopping away when he turned around to see Craig had already begun to start eating some yoghurt.

Craig's Dad was actually happy that Craig could do this without making a mess. Once again, during the hottest part of the day indoor fun like playing with puzzles was Craig's way of passing the time.

The weather was perfect for the beach and that is where Craig and his Dad spent most of the afternoon.
Craig has plenty of digging implements to put to use when digging in the sand.

While lying on his back next to Craig, Craig's Dad put his book down for a few seconds and took a picture of the scene directly above. Just for fun.

After a while Craig moved over to the park where he kept trying to turn on a tap because he liked the idea of playing in the water.

After returning to the house, Craig needed a snack before dinner time and where better to enjoy that than on the top verandah.

Days in Yeppoon All Look the Same 2

Since all the days look roughly the same, Craig's Dad didn't take any photos in the morning on the next day. But, the weather was so beautiful that when Craig and his Dad went to the beach in the afternoon the camera had to come out.

Craig spent a couple of hours very happily digging in the sand and only stood up because his Dad tried to take his picture once too often.

Then, Craig spent some time in the park across the street while his Dad sat on a park bench trying to dodge the bird poo that kept falling from the tree branches above. Alfred Hitchcock never put that type of attack in his movie.

Craig has only recently begun enjoying playing on swings. He spent a good 10 minutes on this swing, a long time for him to do one thing.

Craig then insisted on going to "another beach". So, he was packed up into his little carseat and driven just one beach over. Lammermoor is much longer than Cooee Bay and, on this day, windier by far.

Craig was super hungry at dinner time and wolfed down a mini pizza. His appetite has been very good during his time in Yeppoon.

Playing in the bath has become something Craig is becoming accustomed to as well. As soon as his bath is finished it's story time and then time to sleep. It's a great life for a little bloke.

Days in Yeppoon All Look the Same 1

Craig has been enjoying life in Yeppoon. He has made a space on a table downstairs his puzzle space. Singing while doing jigsaw puzzles is popular.

Craig's Dad isn't sure why Craig doesn't look happy in this photo because he was actually very happy the whole morning.

One thing that made Craig happy was the purchase of kid-sized boxes of sultanas. He had a box and a half with lunch.

Then he spent a couple of hours digging in the sand at Cooee Bay in the afternoon.

He even had time to play on the jungle gym in the park again.

He was more adventurous this time. He wanted to play on everything.

Back at Grandma's house, Craig helped Grandma take Buddy for a walk.

And, there was time to play with his puzzles before going to bed early .... for a change.

First Full Day In Yeppoon

Craig slept until 8am despite the strong morning sunlight coming in through the window. Craig's Dad thought it would be best to wake him up and give him breakfast.

He still looked tired at breakfast but ate all the scrambled egg Craig's Grandma made for him and drank a big cup of milk.

The first thing Craig did was help Craig's Dad with the washing. Craig didn't like walking out to the clothesline on the grass barefoot and he thought the cement path was too hot, which was a pretty sensible assessment.

So, he was much happier inside doing some "drawing".

Craig's Grandma's fridge door has plenty of pictures of grandchildren but Craig seems to be a feature.

Craig was at the beach in the afternoon. He only wanted to sit in the shade and dig in the sand. He didn't want to go swimming and preferred to sit upwind from his Dad so that the sand was blowing in Craig's Dad's eyes rather than vice-versa.

He really enjoys the digging.

Back at the house, Craig's Grandma's dog Buddy came in to the bathroom while Craig was having a bath, probably to see what all the singing was about.

Craig likes patting Buddy but Buddy is still a bit nervous about Craig.

Craig's Dad is concerned about the remote control collection at Craig's Grandma's house. There are way too many for Craig to leave them all untouched.

Despite being busy all day, Craig was still quite perky at 9pm and came out of the bedroom to watch TV with Grandma more than an hour after Craig's Dad had put him to bed.

Even after lying down on his Grandma Craig didn't go to sleep until after 11pm. We will never know why!!

Yet Another Long Journey

On the Saturday that he was set to leave for his latest trip overseas, Craig had lunch and dinner downstairs on the second floor with Craig's Taiwanese Grandmother (not pictured) and others.

The others included Craig's Aunty Jessie (aka Yu-fang) who was kept busy using her lung-power to blow up toys for her daughters.

Craig had been told many times about the upcoming trip to Australia so he wasn't concerned at all.

He was quite happy about trying out his car seat at home just before it was time to leave at 8pm.

After a smooth trip to the airport and a very friendly check-in, Craig headed straight to the play area where he had lots of fun with the Lego there.

He built a very tall tower that was knocked over by another kid causing Craig to race into action to rebuild it. He then stayed beside it, on the lookout for any other kids that might do damage to his tower. He only left it when Craig's Dad told him it was time to go to the gate to board their 11pm flight.

Craig was happy to be off the airplane in Brisbane. He looked pretty cool riding on top of the luggage waiting to get through Customs.

So, after a long and rather painful international flight, where Craig only slept about 6 hours, and then a much shorter, much less painful domestic flight, Craig was very happy to be sitting in his carseat riding to Grandma's house.

One of the first things Craig did after arriving at Grandma's house was help Grandma take her dog Buddy for a walk.

Craig still seemed to have plenty of energy so he and Craig's Dad went to another park that had a jungle gym. It was good to be off the airplane.

There's no pictures of the rest of the day because Craig fell asleep in his chair as soon as he had finished dinner at 7pm. It had been a long day and he'd built up a very large sleep debt the night before so he needed a big sleep.

Lego at Home

Craig was at home with Craig's Mum on Friday while Craig's Dad toiled away in the coal mines at FTV. Craig was playing happily with his Lego when Craig's Mum turned her mobile phone on him and began video-recording.

Craig's first reaction was to giggle.

Soon he was back to his favourite game of building the tallest tower he can with the limited number of blocks available. He didn't mind too much when it fell down.

(Apologies for the camera angle. A lack of technical know-how prevents Craig's Dad from fixing it.)

But, then came a good long video that featured Craig becoming quite excited at around the 1min 40sec mark where he says "It didn't fall down" repeatedly in Chinese. Craig's Dad particularly likes the next bit where Craig holds up the falling tower with his forehead and nose for a second. Ya gotta love his spirit!

LA Cafe Again

It may have been mentioned before on this blog that Craig's Dad doesn't have regular weekends. Thursdays and Saturdays are his days off. So, Thursdays are normally a good day for a sleep-in and brunch but on this Thursday Craig messed that plan up by waking up early. So, an expensive breakfast was had far too early to be considered brunch.

Craig's Mum is very good at keeping Craig busy so that his parents have a chance to read a newspaper, drink their coffee and do other adult stuff.

But, Craig also likes it if his Mum joins in and plays with him. That always brings a smile to his face.

Kindy: It's Not All Fun and Games

Craig has been going to kindy for a few weeks now. Craig's kindy teachers say that most of the time Craig is quite happy there. He's become accustomed to a routine of breakfast, play at home with Mum and Dad for a few hours, then put on his shoes, pick up his backpack and head for kindergarten.

He normally walks by himself holding hands with either Mum or Dad for the first part of the journey.

But after a little while he'll ask to be carried.

Craig's Dad often has to carry the boy all the way to the front door of Uncle Jason's. Craig will pull a face like he's going to cry when Mum and Dad say, "See you later" but, he's slowly getting used to life at kindy.

In other news, Craig went to get a flu shot the other day and because it was very close to Craig's third birthday he was measured and weighed. His height in right in the middle when compared to other kids his age in Taiwan but his weight is in the lower 20-25 percentile range. So, he's perfectly average for height but a bit skinny. Things could be a lot worse.
