Taipei Zoo

Craig's first visit to Taipei Zoo was in October last year. He didn't find the animals very interesting at that time.

Craig's Dad thought he might be more interested now that he's a little older and more interested in his surroundings than he was in the past.

It was a hot day so the first thing Craig and his parents did on arrival at the zoo was stock up on water. Then Craig held the water bottle while his Mum went to the ladies room.

Craig and his Dad posed in front of the enclosure of the first animal they saw, a small alligator type of feller from Malaysia. His name was False Gharial but if you knew that name to be an animal similar to an alligator then you are a better man/woman than Craig's Dad.

He didn't look very threatening, so long as you stayed out of his swimming pool.

Mum held Craig up so that he could get a better look at an enclosure that had baboons (hidden) and some other monkeys.

Craig ignored the orangutans in the next enclosure while he played with his Dad.

The elephants were busy eating and not much interested in the people visiting the zoo.

Craig returned their disinterest.

But he was more interested in the next animal, an addax.

He even tried to climb down to say hello!

When Craig was walking along holding his Mum's hand, Craig's dad pointed his camera at them. Craig immediately began to make a run for it just to spoil the photo. His evil plan worked.

The day was hot enough that Craig sat down for a rest with his Mum to look at the zebras next.

Craig's Dad took this picture because it explains the difference between emus and ostriches.

After a light lunch Craig was beginning to get tired and he preferred sitting in his pram to walking. In the background you can see one of the many school groups that was in the zoo that day. It was a Thursday and there were happy kindergarten students and very busy teachers all over the zoo that day.

But Craig was too tired to care about anyone else and as soon as he got on the MRT to go home Craig's head went down on his Mum's shoulder and his eyes began to close.
