The weather turned glorious when the weekend began and Craig was taken to a slightly larger park than the one nearest home that is about 10 minutes walk from home. Two of Craig's cousins that live on the ground floor of the block of flats that is called home came along to play as well. All the kids enjoyed chasing a ball around.
But it was hot and the park is covered with a black rubber material that is soft to fall on but holds heat from the sun very well. So, the little people soon stopped for a cold drink.
Craig was the first to start playing again but he became very possessive of the ball. If it didn't come back to him straight away after he had kicked it he would sit down and demand its quick return.
Craig's Mum took him out of the sun for another cold drink but Craig's cousin continued playing with the ball.
The three little people then all moved on to play on the big concrete slide.
And, the see-saw was put to use for a minute or two as well.
But, it was too hot to stay for very long. On the way back home, they stopped for another cold drink and at a conveniently-placed (ahem) convenience store.
This was a rare day because Craig had an afternoon nap, perhaps because the park had been so very hot. After the nap he had a brief snack.
Craig's Dad took the opportunity to take a close-up picture of the tiny scar next to Craig's eye.
Then it was out to the small park nearest home. Saturday afternoons are always crowded there.
Craig received some help from another boy who wanted to rock the now-familiar blue rocking-duck. That made him giggle a lot and anything that makes Craig happy, makes his parents happy, too.
